Atlantic Antic Turns The Big 3-0

The picture above is one of about five dozen snaps I shot walking up and down Atlantic Avenue this afternoon. We made it there with about an hour and half to spare which essentially means we got our fair share of the food, shopping, and sights but with about half the crowd. We may have to remember that trick for next year.

One of the things that we remarked on was the comprable lack of cool boutique style street vendors -- ya know the type with shirts akin to what you mind find at say Brooklyn Industries or Cog & Pearl. Instead, there seemed to be an overwhelming number of political themed objects and clothes. Not too surprising since it's an election year I suppose. Still it seemed more prevalent than I recall others being in the past. Not that I'm complaining since I scored a great deck of "Dubya in Drag" playing cards that will hopefully make an apperance in this week's poker game.

I guess it goes without saying but since I had my camera out it was open season on me by bored cops. The officer in one of the first few photos was not too thrilled with "the manor in which the photos were taken" -- whatever the fuck that means. Anyway, at least he was willing to actually look at the photos on my camera to see that I wasn't plotting the downthrow of Western Civilization (unlike the subway cops that nailed be for a fine back in March).
