Matt Lenny and The New Reds

Rock. On. Chicago's favorite son and greatest export to NYC, Matt Lenny -- along with his bandmates The New Reds, Danny Reisbick on bass and Sonny Ratcliff on drums -- came to Sin-e Monday night to chew bubble gum and rock out. And they were all out of bubble gum.
The band is classic rock and roll power trio goodness. Lenny's guitar and vocals are slinky and raucous. Reisbick's bass is steady and driving. Ratcliff's drums are pounding and maniacal. Perhaps best of all they really just know how to have a good fucking time and it shows. No shoe-gazing allowed. Navel-inspecting is also a no-go. We're talking about pure, uncut Rock here.
They have two more shows in the local area this month. First up on Oct. 12th they'll be playing in Hoboken at The Whiskey Bar (incidentally can anyone tell me why I wasn't able to buy and imbibe whiskey at Sin-e? WTF?). After that gig they'll be back in The City on Oct. 26th jamming at Kenny's Castaways (does anyone remember if I'm even allowed to show my face there? My memory of the last time I was there is hazy at best....).
If you want to see more pics of The Rock than check out some of our other photo albums specifically Neko Case, The Sadies, and Dave Bielanko at Southpaw, The Cure and Interpol at The Curiosa Festival on Randall's Island, and Gajin a Go Go and The Squeezettes at Coney Island's Circus Day.
