This or That! Final Show at The Belt Theater

This or That! Final Show at The Belt Theater

After a six month run, the infamous burlesque game show THIS OR THAT! end its extended run in Manhattan at midtown's Belt Theater on March 25th when the venue closes its doors forever. Fortunately, the show will also take a stab at Off-Broadway for two performances only, Fridays April 15th & 22nd.

Renowned sword swallower, magician and improvisation wizard The Great Fredini hosts THIS OR THAT! alongside co-host Julie Atlas Muz, blonde bombshell performer and recent Whitney Biennial artist. This winsome duo, aptly dubbed "Burlesque's 'Pat & Vanna'" by Back Stage, greets contestants at a giant wheel that issues zany challenges. In addition to naughty prizes, challenge winners get to choose one of two curtains, "This" or "That", out of which emerges either a classic burlesque hottie or an act that stinks so bad it's brilliant. Its like Let's Make a Deal, The Gong Show, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show all rolled into one sidesplitting theatrical spectacle with an unforgettable climax!

After a six month run at Off-Off Broadway’s The Belt Theater, the infamous burlesque game show THIS OR THAT! moves Off-Broadway for two performances at The Zipper Theater on Friday, April 15th and Friday, April 22nd.

In addition to naughty prizes, challenge winners get to choose one of two curtains, "This" or "That", out of which emerges either a classic burlesque hottie or an act that stinks so bad it’s brilliant. Its like Let's Make a Deal, The Gong Show, and the Rocky Horror Picture Show all rolled into one sidesplitting theatrical spectacle with an unforgettable climax!

Each performance is a different show with new acts and outrageous contestant antics. Challenges include a Sexy Banana Eating Contest, Name That Smell, Spanking For Dollars, a balloon popping game and a contest involving pelting rotten tomatoes at a mime. You have to see it to believe it!

The cast of THIS OR THAT! includes Bambi and Bunny Luv, the This or That Girls, and MC/drummer Brian Fisherman performing live with his 4-piece Xylophonic Burlesque Orchestra. The shows will also feature burlesque sensations Miss Dirty Martini, The Pontani Sisters, and Bradford Scobie’s borsht belt Ukulele Louie, Doctor Donut, and Candy Pants the Beaver, among others.

THIS OR THAT! has amassed a cult-like following since it’s inception in Coney Island in 2002. The evening is framed as a taping of a real TV game show and the onstage antics are actually filmed for Manhattan Cable’s MNN Channel 57. These edited 28 minute segments from Coney Island air Sundays at midnight. For more info visit www.thisorthat.tv.

THIS OR THAT! runs Fridays April 15 & 22 at 11:00pm at The Zipper Theater. Tickets are $20. The Zipper is located at 336 West 37th St (between 8th & 9th Aves -- accessible from the A,C,E trains at 34th Street). For reservations call 212-239-6200 or visit www.TeleCharge.com.

EXTRA! This or That! Host Fredini on Discovery's Monster Garage April 25th
On April 18th, Discovery Channel's acclaimed show Monster Garage will feature the great Fredini as a primary member of the Mobile Funhouse build team! In the episode, Fredini and four other builders will attempt to convert a mobile home into a carnival funhouse in just 5 days. The front of the mobile home is to be adorned with a giant carved foam clown's skull and accompanied by a custom soundtrack mixed by This or That! sound designer Kevin Scott. The vehicle is to be filled with funhouse mirrors, wobbly and sliding floor panels, and a bungie maze, all leading into a giant motorized rotating barrel with an exit out a slide at the rear of the vehicle. Also featured on the build team is Tyler Fyre of the Lucky Devil Sideshow, who is periodically a special guest performer with This or That!. In what could be a TV first, Tyler and Fredini perform a sword swallowing duet outside the funhouse! Will they complete it?? Tune in April 25th at 9 and 11pm on Discovery Channel and see if they are able to complete the build before time runs out!
